period, servant, monk, Lord, King, Queen, hero, heroine.
- Be able to use common words associated with the passing of time, e.g Sequence events
and objects - stories and events in the history of Wales.
- To know some events and personalities from the past relating to Welsh History.
- To understand the similarities and differences between their own lives and those
of children and their families long ago.
- To begin to understand why people did things and the consequences of their actions
as a result. - From the stories of St. David, Gerald of Wales, Mary Jones, Lady Charlotte
Guest. Lady Llanover, Jemima Nicholas etc.
- Find out about the past from a range of resources including, radio tapes, video,
books, CD Rom and the Internet.
- To show an awareness of a range of ways in which we can find out about the past.
e.g. archaeology, artefacts, commemorative stones, traditions etc.
- Communicate their knowledge of the past through enactment, dance, model making and
writing.
- Consider the characteristics of the periods in which the personalities lived.
- Begin to consider the ways in which the past is represented.
- Begin to be aware that the past can be interpreted in different ways.
